F*** My Life.
So often used when things are going wrong, but so often things are not really f***ing long-term permentantly wrong, but just unpleasant or unplanned or annoying. To me, FML seems more appropriate for things like when your house burns down, or you are sick for weeks with chemo, or you get your legs blown off by an IED, or, well, ...you get the idea. I suppose that this is really about how I feel about the F word, and I feel that it is a strong word for use in situations when a "well, this sucks" doesn't do the situation justice and your life really and truly is changed. I haven't actually heard anyone say it (I guess I am too old and 'motherish' for anyone to use it in my presence) but if I did I would have to agree that it would sound stupid--unless life really were that bad.
